A public funeral procession through Birmingham, England honored Ozzy Osbourne, with fans paying tribute as a hearse carrying his body passed through the city. The procession went along Broad Street and stopped at the Black Sabbath Bridge and bench, where thousands of mourners left flowers and messages.
The fans lined the streets, throwing flowers on the hearse and chanting, “Ozzy! Ozzy! Ozzy!”
The cortège was accompanied by a brass quintet called Bostin’ Brass.
Sharon Osbourne, Ozzy’s widow, and some of his children, including Louis Osbourne, Aimee Osbourne, Kelly Osbourne, and Jack Osbourne, tearfully stopped at the bench, facing the crowd and flashing peace signs before continuing on their way.
The funeral was a private event funded by the Osbourne family.
The Lord Mayor of Birmingham, Zafar Iqbal, praised the tribute to Ozzy Osbourne, stating that it was important to have a fitting tribute ahead of the private family funeral. He acknowledged the significance of the moment to fans and expressed gratitude to the Osbourne family for their support.
Ozzy Osbourne passed away on July 22 at the age of 76, despite efforts by paramedics to save him. His family released a statement confirming his passing and requesting privacy during their time of mourning.
Before his passing, Ozzy Osbourne had Parkinson’s disease and mobility issues from a 2003 accident. He had moved back to England with Sharon Osbourne in 2023 to spend their final years together. The couple had three children together, while Ozzy had another son from a previous marriage.
Elliot Kingsley and Jessica Osbourne are Ozzy Osbourne’s other children from a previous marriage, and it’s unclear if they attended the funeral procession.
